A Welcome from Governor Matt Blunt and
First Lady Melanie Blunt

Over the years, the Missouri Governor's Mansion has provided a home for thirty-three governors and their families.  It has warmly opened its doors to thousands of Missourians and out-of-state visitors.

Today a visit to the 137 year-old Mansion is truly a "handclasp with history," as former first lady Mrs. John Dalton once said.  From its windows in 1911, Mrs. Hadley and her children watched the State Capitol go up in flames.  Within its walls have been such notables as the Grand Duke Alexis of Russia, General George Custer, British Prime Minister Edward Heath, Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, Harry Truman, William Jennings Bryan, Jefferson Davis, Vice-President Al Gore and President Bill Clinton.

As the current residents, we are happy to be a part of the history of Missouri's White House, and to carry on the open house tradition that started long ago.  We invite you to come and tour the Mansion, to see its beautiful architecture and period furniture . . . to visit and enjoy this wonderful Victorian home.
