Welcome to Missouri
Mansion Preservation Inc. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to
preserving Missouri’s Governor’s Mansion, providing meaningful educational
programs and events.
The Governor’s
Mansion has been the home of Missouri’s First Families since 1871. Today,
Governor Jay Nixon and First Lady Georganne Nixon reside there with their
sons, Jeremiah and Will, and their six-year-old dog Daniel Boone. The Nixon
family are committed to continuing efforts to preserve the rich fabric of
Missouri’s history.
Generous community
support provides funding to care for one of the most established governor’s
residences in the United States. Over 60,000 guests visit the Mansion
annually with a room by room tour of the first floor detailing the historic
relics, art and furnishings.
The Mansion illustrates architecture distinctive of the Renaissance Revival
with beautiful Italian and French influences. Guests enjoy the free flowing
Grand Stairway carved out of walnut, rich Victorian décor, and detailed
historic tour. Once your tour is complete, the Mansion gardens are not to be
missed and a photographer’s dream visit!
